South Korea's specialty vehicle company Autech Corporation announced on Tuesday that it plans to enter the silver car market for seniors.
It aligns strategically with South Korea's rapidly aging demographics. According to the Korea Housing Institute, as of 2023, over 27% of the population, or roughly 13.95 million people, are aged 60 and over.
Autech has developed a user-friendly silver car that offers easy entry and exit for wheelchair users.
Safety takes center stage with specialized wheelchair securing devices and three-point seat belts for all passengers.
Autech incorporated power seats for regular seating, enhancing accessibility for seniors with limited mobility.
The company plans to focus on supplying these silver cars to nursing hospitals and local government programs dedicated to elderly mobility services.
Autech also intends to strengthen its sales to rental car companies.
