Gmarket on Thursday say it will launch a customized search service for hotels abroad.

Users can input hotel-related keywords into the Gmarket app's search bar to find lodging meeting their specifications.

The app uses a maximum of 14 search filters and provides hotel location and price range at a glance through its map view function.

The number of hotel products sold has skyrocketed from 100,000 to over 500,000.

Gmarket also simplified the payment process and provided a connection to the flight search function if a user's reserved hotel is near an airport.

"Because demand for international travel is expected to explode this year, we reorganized our overseas hotel service," said Lee Ju-cheol, head of Gmarket's strategic business division.
