Samsung Electronics Co. on Wednesday launched its new T-series offering, the portable solid state drive (SSD) T9.

The T9 showcases impressive sequential read/write speeds, hitting 2,000 MB/s on the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface.

This makes it about twice as fast as its T7 predecessor, allowing for a 4GB Full HD video transfer in nearly two seconds.

Catering to varied user requirements, the T9 is available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models.

This ensures quick transfers and sufficient space for large datasets. Moreover, its credit card-sized dimensions ensure users can seamlessly integrate it into their creative workflows.

The T9 brings together functionality and aesthetic appeal. Drawing inspiration from the rugged design of the T7 Shield, the T9 showcases curved diagonal lines and a textured surface, akin to a luxe wallet, enhancing the user's tactile experience.

It can withstand drops from heights up to three meters and comes with a five-year limited warranty. Samsung's Dynamic Thermal Guard technology counters potential overheating, ensuring sustained transfer speeds.

Furthermore, its design aligns with the international safety standard IEC 62368-1, guaranteeing minimal heat transfer during intensive tasks.

The latest 8.0 version of the Samsung Magician software, launched in September 2023, enhances user interaction through features like performance benchmarking, security enhancements, firmware updates, and real-time health checks.

“With advances in high-resolution photos and the rising popularity of 4K videos, professional content creators now face the necessity of transferring large amounts of data on a frequent basis,” said Sohn Hangu, Vice President of Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics.

“The T9 offers a solution for professionals to alleviate the challenges that come with managing their data, and Samsung will continue to provide optimized memory solutions that enable professionals to fully concentrate on achieving their creative potential.”
