South Korea's SPC Group, the operator of the bakery franchise Paris Baguette said on Thursday it plans to build a plant in the City of Burleson, Johnson County, Texas, the US.
The group is finalizing investment plans and subsidies with the local government. The discussions are expected to be finalized as early as this month.
Johnson County and the City of Burleson governments will provide around $10 million to attract SPC Group's new plant.
SPC Group's bakery plant in America will supply products in the US and Canada, where Paris Baguette stores are expanding, and Latin America, where the company plans to expand.
With an investment of $160 million and an area of 150,000 square meters, the plant will be SPC Group's largest overseas production facility.
SPC Group operates a bakery plant in Tianjin, China.
The group is nearing completion of a halal-certified bakery plant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
