South Korea's Daedong Mobility announced on Friday that it has completed the construction of the largest rooftop solar power plant in the country at S-Factory, a smart mobility production facility located in Daegu.
The installation area of the rooftop solar power plant covers 31,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of five soccer fields. Through this solar power plant, Daedong Mobility expects to reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by 1,508 tons.
S-Factory, inaugurated in Nov. 2022 as a futuristic smart factory, currently produces electric scooters, golf carts, compact sub-compact tractors and lawnmowers.
"In line with the global RE100 trend, S-Factory, a key hub of our global mobility business, has secured renewable energy through the solar power plant," said Kwon Ki-jae, Executive Vice President of Daedong Mobility.
"We will take the lead in practicing ESG intiatives," he added.
