Cosmax Inc., South Korea's largest cosmetics original development and design manufacturer (ODM), said on Thursday that it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) for joint research with China's Jiangnan University in Wuxi, Jiangsu, a leading institution in the field of food science.
Jiangnan University, which in 1984 became the first university in China to establish a cosmetics department, has since expanded to become a Cosmetics Innovation Research Center.
This center is a designated research institution by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and researches cosmetic formulations, materials, safety, and clinical evaluations.
Cosmax plans to develop its research and development (R&D) workforce through customized educational programs.
Cosmax has around 400 R&D personnel at its China subsidiaries in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
