South Korea’s DL E&C Co. announced on Wednesday that it signed a feasibility study contract with Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) Inc., the US-based petrochemical and energy technology firm, for a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production project.
This project is about making plant-derived alcohol into SAF, utilizing alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) tech.
Under this agreement, the two companies will offer business development strategies using the ATJ technology for SAF producers.
DL E&C will take part in the basic design package front-end engineering design (FEED), engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and commissioning of the production plant.
KBR will provide the basic design before the FEED phase, supply the core technology, assist with catalyst selection, and offer maintenance solutions.
The two companies aim to offer total solutions across the SAF industry.
