Renowned food influencer Mark Wiens is set to showcase the allure of gastronomic journeys in South Korea.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) on Tuesday, the organization plans to expand its efforts to attract tourists through the appeal of K-food by inviting food and travel blogger and YouTuber Mark Wiens to South Korea from Sept. 4 to 14, as part of a promotional project to introduce the charms of Korean cuisine.

Mark Wiens, an American residing in Thailand, uses his YouTube channel to present various food content from around the world. With around 10 million subscribers and a total accumulated video view count of about 2.5 billion, his influence is substantial.

"I not only want to savor the unique and deep flavors of Korean cuisine but also delve into the hidden stories and cooking processes of local dishes from an outsider's perspective," Wiens expressed his anticipation.

"Korean cuisine, as a core content of the increasingly popular K-culture overseas, is considered a key factor in attracting foreign tourists to Korea," remarked Ahn Hyo-won, head of the Asia-Middle East Team at KTO. "We aim to widely promote the appeal of Korean culinary journeys to foreigners and further transform food travel courses into tourism products, ultimately leading to the attraction of more local tourists,"
