Cosmax Inc., South Korea's largest cosmetics original development and design manufacturer (ODM), said on Friday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China's Fudan University Huashan Hospital and 01 Life Technology.
The company aims to conduct joint research on sensitive skin and microbiomes in China with the local well-known university's famous medical and research center.
Under the MOU, Huashan Hospital will recruit test subjects and perform sensitive skin diagnoses, while Cosmax China will analyze skin conditions.
01 Life Technology will conduct the genomic analysis of microbiome samples.
"This research agreement will serve as a stepping stone for developing microbiome cosmetics tailored to China's 1.4 billion population market," a Cosmax source explained.
"We plan to expand collaborations with research institutions globally to refine its skin microbiome mapping capabilities."
